AZ District 6 - Letter to Families

March 20, 2020
Dear Little League Families,

We like to take this moment to update you on what Little League is doing with regard to the Corona virus – COVID-19. Little League has strongly recommended that we suspend Little League activities until May 11, 2020. District 6 has a partnership with SUSD, and the City of Scottsdale Park& Rec’s. We rely on our partners to be able to operate Little League in order to provide a value of recreational baseball in Scottsdale. SUSD has suspended school, and activities, therefore District 6 is also holding off on starting the Little League season. In the event that SUSD opens sooner than the date last posted, (March 27, 2020), D6 Little League will work to start the season then if possible. Our goal is to keep everyone informed, and also be able to communicate a start date for 2020. At this point we do not know how long the suspension will be, but we have every intention in being able to provide baseball to our community if it is possible. We will be providing updates on our District 6 Little League website, www.az6LL.com as we learn more, and get direction from Little League HQ.

We hope the appetite for Little League Baseball in our community will remain strong. It’s been nice to see kids playing in the neighborhoods, from baseball to bike riding, so we are committed to being able to provide baseball to our community.

If you have any questions, I encourage you to reach out to your local league President, or contact me directly if needed. We appreciate our Little League families, and look forward to seeing some baseball being played soon.

Regards,

Rene Salazar
